Jacob Cartwright

 

Artist-in Residence, Headlands Center for the Arts, near San Francisco, USA. Jacob Cartwright (with long-term collaborator Nick Jordan) has been commissioned to make a film in response to the location, focusing on the activity and unique history of Headlands and its surrounding landscape, and the human influence on the natural environment in the Marin Bay area. April 2013.

Unwritten History, a panel discussion held at Castlefield Gallery on 13 September 2012, to coincide with Dave Griffiths' 'Babel Fiche' exhibition, is now available to listen to online. Mike Jones (Film and Video Umbrella) explores the transition from online project to film with Griffiths, as well as Stefan Skrimshire (writer), Joe Duffy (editor) and Graham Massey (composer). The panel also discussed issues around archiving, authorship, the photographic image, and collaboration.
